Ian Spencer Bell trained at North Carolina School of the Arts, School of American Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. He has been dancing his own work since 2001, when he received a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Atlantic Center for the Arts, Connecticut Ballet, New Chamber Ballet, Summer Stages Dance, and West End Theater (NYC) have presented his choreography. He has worked as a master teacher and dance educator for American Ballet Theatre, Jacob’s Pillow, New York City Center, and the New York City Department of Education. Bell is a student at Sarah Lawrence College and artist-in-residence at the Nightingale-Bamford School. He is married to choreographer Ben Munisteri.
